AP/Payroll Manager

Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Accounts Payable & Payroll Manager to oversee payroll processing, accounts payable, and related financial operations. This role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant financial transactions while supporting budgeting, audits, and monthly close. As a department leader, you'll manage staff, implement process improvements, and serve as a key partner to executive leadership.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

  • Supervise and manage daily operations of the Finance Department on-site.

  • Hire, train, and evaluate finance staff performance.

  • Lead onboarding and ongoing training for finance team members.

  • Foster a professional, collaborative, and high-performance team culture.

Financial Oversight

  • Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.

  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings.

  • Prepare and analyze general ledger entries and reconciliations.

  • Generate monthly financial reports (e.g., cash flow, balance sheet, reconciliations).

  • Conduct audits and analyze variances between actuals and budgets/per diems.

  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and all regulatory requirements.

Process Improvement

  • Develop and monitor internal financial controls and procedures.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations and increase accuracy.

  • Support the creation and analysis of department budgets and forecasts.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Provide timely financial insights to the executive team.

  • Collaborate with departments to support reporting and planning needs.

  • Communicate financial policies, deadlines, and updates to team members.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • 4+ years of experience managing payroll and accounts payable.

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in finance/accounting required.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and accounting principles.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (Sage or similar).

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

PAY DOE $38 to $40/Hour
